Check your calendars!

Mitchell’s ears seem to think it’s the 20th again.

It started on Monday with a runny nose and then coughing on Tuesday. Dave and I both knew we were headed for yet another ear infection. Mitchell acted like he felt fine, so we just gave him Benadryl at night to help with the post-nasal drip. By Thursday morning the cough was worse and I scheduled a sick appointment for him. He already had an appointment scheduled for Friday morning for a re-check from his last infection. We originally thought we could hold until then, but after hearing him coughing, we knew we couldn’t wait another day.

This time, however, only his right ear was infected. The left ear was “perfect”. Unfortunately, there is no way to know if the previous infection never went away or if this is a new infection. Either way, we started him on antibiotics yesterday morning. It’s hard to tell that anything is wrong with him. He certainly doesn’t act like he feels bad.

So we’re off to Raleigh Saturday morning for a quick trip for Granddaddy Grant’s 85th birthday (September 13th). We’ll be back in time to help Christian, one of our neighbors, celebrate his 1st birthday on Sunday.
