Right on the heels of Mitchell being "promoted" to the 3-year-old preschool class, his teachers sent a note home saying they would like to work with him on potty training. So I sent him to school on Tuesday with 5 pairs of shorts and 5 pairs of underwear.
I called around 10:30 and he hadn't had an accident nor had he gone on the toilet. Later in the day, he had 2 accidents.
Then he had 3 accidents with us at home.
We're trying to patient and realize it won't happen overnight.
This has brought some humor to our life though. Last night, Dave threw some Froot Loops in the toilet for Mitchell to aim at. Mitchell said, "I want to feed the toilet!" And I couldn't stop laughing after that.
I made him sit on a towel because I didn't want the furniture to get wet. So this morning when he woke up, the first thing he asked for was a towel to sit on! I put him on the toilet instead and he actually went and we had results! So we were clapping and telling him what a great job he did and he kept saying "I did it, Daddy". He was so proud of himself.
So we'll see how today goes at school. Hopefully he will have less accidents the more he gets used to it.
