When I dropped Mitchell off at school this morning, the director asked me if I heard what had happened at school yesterday. I told her no and she said Mitchell's teacher had brought him up to the office and Mitchell was crying. She looked for an injury and couldn't find one. Mitchell's teacher said that he had stuck a wiggle eye up his nose. (A wiggle eye is something used for crafts.) The director grabbed some tweezers and she was able to get it out.
Once she told me the story, I remembered that Mitchell did tell me last night that Ms. Mary (the director) had taken something out of his nose. I didn't think much of it...I thought he meant that she had helped him blow his nose and I didn't question him any further about it.
So after Mary told me the story this morning, I asked Mitchell if he put something up his nose yesterday and he said, "Yes. I put an eye in my nose." I asked him why and he said, "Because Daddy takes me." Not sure what he meant by that!
At least this didn't require a trip to the emergency room to extract the eye from his nose!
