We went to the pool with our neighbors on Saturday morning and while we were there, Mitchell told Dave he wanted to jump off the diving board. I told Dave he said the same thing last year and he chickened out. So I thought there was no way he would jump off. But Dave swam out in the deep end and waited for Mitchell and sure enough…he jumped off the diving board! And he loved it. He said, “Daddy, I want to do that again.” And he did it again…and again and again and again. He started watching the other kids and he would run out to the end of the diving board and then stand there and jump like the older kids were doing.
We went back to the pool Saturday evening and now it was my turn to tread water and catch him. Once again, he couldn’t get enough of it and just kept jumping over and over again.
We skipped the pool on Sunday because we were all tired!
But we went back on Monday night. Now it was Dave’s turn again to catch him. At this point, Mitchell won’t even go into the shallow end of the pool so we can relax. All he wants to do is jump off the diving board.

Here's a link to a video that Dave took of him jumping off the diving board on Saturday night:

So the other night I was quizzing Mitchell about his name and other things that I know he’s learning about at school.
Me: Where do you live?
Mitchell: In a tent!
He was so serious about it. But I started laughing and couldn’t stop laughing at his answer. Finally he said he lived in a house in America.

When Mitchell woke up the other morning, he stumbled into the bathroom and his eyes weren’t used to the bright lights and he said, “Mommy, I can’t see my eyes.”
