Bowling!

Over Labor Day weekend, we took Mitchell bowling with his friend Hazen. They were doing Cosmic bowling when we got there...so the music was blaring, the disco balls were spinning and the boys loved it.

We got them into their bowling shoes and found an orange bowling ball for Mitchell. We were ready to go...except it took the 2 IT professionals (me and Hazen's Dad) a while to figure out how to enter our names for scoring. You would think they would have done some usability testing and QA before rolling out their product.

Hazen and Mitchell were very fascinated by the ball return. They stuck their faces right in front of it trying to see where the bowls were coming from and when they might roll out. I'm surprised that one of them didn't get smacked in the face by a 10-pound bowling ball!

We got the line up complete and we were ready to bowl. Dave helped Mitchell with his form and down the alley his ball went...but wait, he stepped over the line and got a foul. And it took quite a while for the ball to make...it...to...the...pins. But Mitchell didn't care about the foul or the slowness of the ball rolling. He was thrilled when he knocked down some of the pins.

It didn't take very long for Mitchell and Hazen to get bored while waiting for their turns. They ran off to the arcade and we had to retrieve them each time it was their turn.

Mitchell did try to help me by bringing me my bowling ball when it was my turn. I'm surprised he didn't drop the ball on his toes.

Mitchell ended up scoring a 55...not bad at all considering he had quite a few fouls and those pins didn't count. Dave was the only one in our family who broke 100.

SCORE!!

Where do they come from??!
