We were at Twisted Taco this afternoon watching football ...enjoying chips and queso when Mitchell said his tooth hurt. I looked at it and noticed it was very loose...like barely hanging on! I freaked out just a little bit because I couldn't believe he was loosing his first tooth. In the midst of my freaking, Dave said, "Aren't they supposed to come out?" Of course they are...but when he's old enough to loose teeth. And he's not old enough yet. : )
So off to the bathroom they went and Dave got ready to pull it when Mitchell said he wanted to do it. So he pulled it out all by himself! He was quite proud of himself when he came back to the table.
I told him that we'll put it under his pillow tonight and the tooth fairy will come and will bring him something. I just need to dig out the pillow he got as a baby present! Although I might also see if he wants to use my old tooth pillow...one that my Grammy made for me.
So here we are 18 days away from his 5th birthday and I'm hit with the realization that he's growing up! I still remember when we realized his first tooth was coming in...he was just 3 months old at the time and it still feels like it was yesterday.
