I'm getting a little frustrated with our pediatrician's office because this is the second time I've had to wait for 30+ minutes for our appointment. I have never had this issue before with our office. In fact, I've never had one complaint about our pediatrician or the office. I made her next appointment for 9:30am (the earliest they will let me make an appointment for her) in hopes that I won't have to wait quite as long.
Macey weighed in at 13 1/2 pounds and is 22 1/2 inches. The pediatrician said she's doing great and everything looks good.
Poor girl got 5 shots though. My heart just broke for her when she realized what was going on and she started crying. Thankfully she calmed down as soon as I picked her up and comforted her.
She was pretty grumpy the rest of the day. She was restless during her naps and fussy when she was awake. So I finally went out to run a few errands and hoped that she would sleep in the car for a little bit. She ended up taking a good, long nap when we got home.
She's sleeping much better at night. I used the swing for a few nights and she would sleep for 5 hours at a time in the swing. Then I moved her back to the crib a few nights ago and she is still consistently sleeping for 5 hours. Her second waking varies...it can be as short as 2 hours later or as long as 3 1/2 hours. Last night, she slept from 8:30pm-1:30am and got up again at 5am. She had been on a schedule of sleeping from 9:30-2:30 and I'd like to get back to that schedule. But I'm at her mercy right now!
Mitchell is so sweet in the morning. I'm normally sleeping in the nursery (so that Dave doesn't bother me when he gets ready for work) when Mitchell gets up . But he always comes in to check on us. He'll ask if she cried during the night (he never hears her) and if she had good sleep or bad sleep. He has learned that Mommy is grumpy on the mornings when we Macey had "bad sleep"!
I'm already counting down the days until I go back to work. I'm really going to miss spending my days with Macey. But I know she'll be OK and will be well taken care of. But I know I will most likely cry on her first day at Primrose just as I did with Mitchell. I'm so thankful to have had 12 weeks at home with her.
My favorite thing to do with her is head to the Target shopping center at North Point. I'll park at either Target or Babies 'R Us. Since the stores are at opposite ends of the strip mall, I get in my exercise by walking between them. I go first thing in the morning before it's too hot or too crowded. It has really worked out well and it's been my favorite pastime with her.
Macey has also been to quite a few lunches with me and my girlfriends. She is a great lunch date! She normally sleeps the entire time.
Of course I have to include some recent pictures of Macey.
