Macey is 8 weeks old today!

The past 8 weeks have just flown by. Of course it's probably gone by quicker because we've been so busy.

We just got back from Macey's 2nd trip to the beach. Her first trip was over the Memorial Day weekend and I'm going to call that an "unofficial" trip because I didn't take one single picture! That is so unlike me. It's definitely different juggling 2 kids.

We headed to the beach on Saturday, May 29. Macey did great in the car. We left at 5:30am and made great time given that we were traveling with a newborn. We got to the beach around lunchtime. We ate and then Mitchell headed straight to the beach with Granddad and Dave. I headed down a little later after getting Macey settled in.

Granddad did take a few pictures.

In between the Memorial Day trip and our trip in June, Macey went to her first movie. We took Mitchell to see Marmaduke and Macey came along with us. She did so good. She pretty much slept through the entire movie.

Mitchell has been busy as well. He's been to two sports camps. He went to multi-sport camp where he played baseball, dodge ball, whiffle ball and lacrosse. He also attended a baseball camp. In between the 2 camps, he went back to Primrose for a week of summer camp there. He was so excited to see his old friends. They also got to meet Macey and were very excited that she'd be attending Primrose in July.

We headed out for the beach again on Friday, June 11. Dave took 1/2 day off from work and we were on the road by 1:30. It's a little hairy getting out of Atlanta on a Friday afternoon, but we made OK time. Again, Macey did really good in the car. Mitchell was excited to see his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncle. The weather was great (although it was a little on the hot side). But the kids stayed cool by getting in the ocean and the neighbor's swimming pool. On a particularly hot day, we headed to the mall for lunch and to see Karate Kid. Macey slept through the movie even though it was longer than Marmaduke.

The original plan was for Dave to drive back on Wednesday and I would fly back on Thursday afternoon with the kids. However, a pilot strike put a kink in our plans. So the kids and I drove back to Atlanta with Dave on Wednesday.

We took it easy over the weekend and recovered from a wonderful trip to the beach.

Today I got a few good pictures of Macey wearing a new outfit I bought for her this past Saturday. She's been smiling for a few weeks now, but it's so hard to catch it with the camera!
