Macey's Birthday Weekend

Since Macey was born on a Monday, it will be a while before her birthday falls on the weekend! So she benefits from having a party on the weekend and the celebration will continue until the day of her birthday! (It falls on Tuesday this year.)

Her birthday party was at 2pm on Saturday, April 23rd. Ironically enough, her original c-section date was April 23rd.

Mitchell had a baseball game at 10:45am. It worked out well since Mom, Dad and Kerri would be in town for Macey's birthday party so they could also go to his game. The Marlins played their best game yet! Several of the boys who usually do not have hits, had great hits. There were 2 innings where the umpires ended the inning early because we scored 5 runs. The game itself also ended early because we were ahead by 10 runs.

We came home and got everything ready for Macey's party! Luckily the sun came out right before the party started.

Mitchell was a little disappointed that Macey couldn't wear the Carter's birthday dress we had picked out. She's crawling more than walking and I knew a dress would be a hinderance for her as she tried to get around. But a good friend of mine had passed down some very cute pink and green outfits and she wore one of those...so she matched the color scheme I had picked for her party!

Macey started getting a little fussy/tired right when it was time for cake. She did squish her cupcake and took a few bites. But she sure didn't get as into it as Mitchell did! He had cake and icing everywhere. She was certainly more girly and didn't make much of a mess at all. But I think she enjoyed the few bites of cake that she did take!



We had so much fun celebrating Macey's 1st birthday with our family and friends!
