We left a little later in the day on Saturday because Mitchell had baseball evaluations at 10:45. We drove up, checked into the hotel and then took the shuttle to downtown Chattanooga. We got to the children's museum (Creative Discovery Museum) at 3:45 only to find out that they close at 5pm! So we decided to just buy a membership to the museum so we could come back as often as we like for an entire year. So the kids played for an hour and then we headed to Mellow Mushroom for dinner.
Macey never took a 2nd nap so she was on the fussy side. She seemed to like it when she was moving so we just kept her in the stroller and just tried to keep her moving. We walked around the grounds outside of the aquarium and then walked to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream. We headed to a playground by the river and the kids played there for a while. But it was pretty hot and we were all ready to just get back to the hotel. I'm not sure what was going on, but we waited a good 20 minutes this time for the shuttle. The kids were getting very impatient and restless!
Finally...we got back to the hotel and the kids and Dave got dressed for the pool. The hotel had an indoor and an outdoor pool so we went to both. We were all exhausted after our day and we were all in bed by 9pm!
We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the hotel. We headed back downtown (this time in our car since the shuttle didn't start until 9:30). I love how easy it is to get around in downtown Chattanooga. The streets are not confusing and it's very pedestrian-friendly. We parked by the river and then headed back to the playground. Macey loves slides! Dave has been taking to the parks around our house and she has learned how to slide. Her face just lights up when she gets to the top of a slide. We played on the swings and the slides for a while before heading to walk by the river.
After Macey's nap, we packed up and headed back downtown. After lunch at Taco Mac, we went back to the children's museum. Macey loved playing in the water again. She had so much fun exploring the water area and the toddler area. Upstairs, there was a Bob the Builder exhibit...with a slide! So she went down the slide many, many times.
