Mitchell's summer as a (Newtown) Brave

Mitchell normally plays baseball for Roswell Recreation; however, they do not have a summer baseball league, so in order to keep Mitchell's baseball skills sharp, I decided to sign him up for the league through Newtown Park. He got placed with Coach Brent Anderson on the Newtown Braves. We had a great experience and Mitchell did a phenomenal job. The Braves had a great season and Mitchell learned a lot.

The coach emphasized defense more than he emphasized good hitting. His fielding skills really improved. *I* even learned a lot! LOL. The coach also stressed the importance of respecting the coach, the other players and yourself.

By the end of the season, he was in the 1000 club because he had a hit every time he was at the plate.

His coach commented that Mitchell may very well grow up to be a meteorologist because he was always talking about the weather and the forecast. I guess Mitchell always discussed the weather with him when Mitchell was on 3rd base (the coach was the 3rd base coach).

Mitchell made some good friends over the summer and also kept up his baseball skills. It was nice to experience a different league and a different park. We all enjoyed it...even Macey!

Some pictures from Mitchell's last game on August 5th.
