Coming around full circle

After reading the definition of "come full circle", I realize that I'm maybe 50% there, but this still feels like one of those moments.

As I was driving home one day last week, I was flipping through the radio stations and heard the song "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. I stopped on the song because it was a song I liked years ago and it was also the father/daughter dance song we used at our wedding reception.  My eyes instantly filled with tears as I started listening to the lyrics...especially these lines:

Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I know the song isn't about dancing in the literal sense. However, it made me think of Macey because she loves to dance. When music is playing or there is a show with characters dancing, Macey will get up and dance around the den. It obviously makes her happy. You can tell she's thoroughly enjoying herself. She certainly doesn't "sit it out" now and I hope that she keeps her love of twirling around without a care in the world. I hope she keeps dancing because it does make her happy.

When this song played at our wedding reception 11 years ago, I never imagined I would one day have a daughter who would love to dance. And I never imagined that the lyrics would hold so much meaning to me as I thought about Macey and I really listened to the words.

Of course the "full circle" will be complete when Macey dances with her Dad to this song on her wedding day.
