Mud Fight

For those who didn't hear the story the first time around. This happened on Tuesday, Feb. 22nd.
Dave called me from daycare yesterday to ask me what Mitchell wore to school because he didn't have on the same clothes from the morning. So I describe them (even though Dave dressed him yesterday morning) and Dave says he can't find them in his cubby. The teacher that was in the room at the time didn't know where they were.

So I drop off Mitchell this morning and I ask the lead teacher where Mitchell's clothes are from yesterday. And she says, "Oh, I had them washed after the mud fight. You didn't hear about that?"

"No, I didn't hear about it," I say.

She says, "We wanted to take the kids outside yesterday to play because the weather was so nice but everything was wet from a bad storm the night before. A couple of us took some towels outside and diligently wiped everything down until it was dry. We let the kids out. Then we hear Mitchell and Zach just giggling and laughing. We turn around and they are sitting on either side of a mud puddle. And they are taking turns splashing each other with the standing water and mud. I screamed for Mary (the director) and told her to get the other kids inside while we got Mitchell and Zach out of the mud puddle. They were both covered in mud at that point."

Zach's mom was in the room at the time she was telling the story and we were both just cracking up at the thought of the two of them playing in the mud puddle. Of course we thought it was funny because we didn't have to clean them up. She said they were filthy from head to toe. They did a good job of cleaning them up b/c I neither one of us could tell they had been covered in mud. I still haven't seen his clothes. She said that she told them to wash them but not dry them. She said she would have them ready for Dave to pick up today when he picks up Mitchell.

These 2 guys were trouble together in the infant room and I guess they are carrying on that tradition in the Toddler room!
