Manners

Manners are very important at Mitchell's school. Since he's been able to talk, they have been teaching him "please" and "thank you" and we of course reinforce that at home. Teaching them to say "excuse me" must be part of the 3-year-old curriculum, however. Ever since he moved to the older class, he's started saying "excuse me". It's actually kind of cute to hear an almost 3-year-old saying, "Excuse me, Mommy".

The other night I put him in bed and as usual, he started calling for me soon after. I went in there and I heard him laying in bed saying, "Excuse me, Mommy. Excuse me, Mommy". So I asked him what he needed and he wanted me to cover his legs with a different blanket. So I did and told him good night. He started calling me again. So I went back in there. He said, "Thank you, Mommy" and went to sleep.

It was so cute and I didn't mind at all going back in there multiple times since he was being so polite about it!
