Since Mitchell’s 4th birthday is right around the corner, we’ve been talking about how old he’s going to be on his birthday. We told him he would be four. But now when you ask him how old he’s going to be, he says, “4 10.”
We’re not quite sure where he got this answer from and we’re not sure what it means.
We don’t know if he means “fourteen”. Or maybe he means that he’ll be 4 and then on a scale of 1-10, his year will rank as a “10”. I just hope that a 10 for him means a 10 for Mommy and Daddy!
If you say, “No, you’re going to be 4.” He’ll get upset and he’s adamant about the fact that he’s going to be “4 10.”

Mitchell got a Halloween goodie bag from one of the neighbors the other night. First of all, he was so excited because they left the bag on the front porch, rang the doorbell and ran. He asked me who left it and I told him Chuck and Ellen left it for him. He was so tickled and kept saying, “Chuck and Ellen left this for ME?”
In the bag was a small package of Goldfish and a small package of Oreos. I’m not quite sure what it was about those 2 things that he liked, but he immediately started carrying those 2 little packages around. He slept with them that night. He was looking for them first thing in the morning when he woke up. He wanted to take them to school with him.
Since I knew a fight would break out over Goldfish and Oreos, I told him no. A meltdown ensued. So I told him he could take ONE thing in the car with him but he had to leave it in the car when we got to school. So our little smarty-pants said, “I do have just one, Mommy. One right here and one right here.” (He had one package in each of his hands. So in his mind, that constituted ONE thing since they weren’t together.)

We’ve been talking about who he wants to be invited to his birthday party. He said he wanted to invite Zachary Smith. (This is not the same Zachary he’s been friends with since he started at Primrose.) Zachary has a younger brother named Ryan and I told Mitchell if we invited Zachary, we would also need to invite Ryan. And he said, “No! I don’t want any babies at my party!”
