Short stories about Mitchell

We went to Dick’s the other night so Dave could spend a gift card he had. I was trying to keep Mitchell busy so Dave could shop. He saw the putting green that they have set up in the store and of course that is what he wanted to…practice his putting.

So he picks up a driver and lines it up with the hole and gets it in on the first try. He keeps “putting” and gets the ball in several more times. Of course he’s very excited and very proud of himself.

When Dave finished his shopping, I told Mitchell that it was time to put up the stick so we could go. He said, “Mommy, it’s not called a stick. It’s called a golf club.”

All I could think is Granddad would be so proud!

We’re trying hard to get Mitchell to sleep in his room all night long. Some nights he’ll come into our room in the middle of the night. Some nights he sleeps in his room just fine. On Wednesday night/Thursday morning, he came in our room at 12:45am. So last night (Thursday night) when I put him to bed I told him that he needed to stay in his room all night long. I told him if he woke up, just to roll back over and go right back to sleep.

He heard my alarm go off at 6am this morning and he called out to me, “Mommy, can I come in your room now?”

He wanted to take his “Green Eggs and Ham” book with him to school today. When he got in the car, he started “reading” it. Oh how I wish I’d had a video camera! It was so cute and funny. I heard him saying, “Sam I am. Sam I am. I do not like green eggs and ham.” And other parts he had memorized about whether Sam would eat them in a tree or in a box. Hopefully he’ll read to Granddad when he comes to visit in May!
