It's about to get busy!

Today was the opening day of spring baseball in Roswell. Mitchell is on the Marlins again this season. We had a blast today. The boys lined up along the first baseline and saluted the flag while they played "The Star Spangled Banner" over the PA system. It was so cute seeing the boys holding their hats and lined up all together. They also had an announcer for today's game. So each boy had his name and position announced when he batted. They didn't do all of this for fall baseball so it was a nice treat today!

We have missed a few practices because of the rain, so I was a little worried about how the boys would do. But they were fantastic! Mitchell played 1st base for a few innings and then he played catcher. At his first at-bat, he hit a triple! And it was just because the boys couldn't catch or throw the ball. : ) He had a good solid hit that went out to left field. We were so proud of him! He got a single the second time he batted.

The game ended in a tie. 4-4. But at the end of the game, the coaches awarded Mitchell the game ball! Again...we were bursting with pride.

This upcoming week, we have a Pack meeting for Cub Scouts, baseball practice and a game on Wednesday and another game on Saturday. We love it! Weekends are so much fun when the weather is nice and we can sit outside and cheer on Mitchell and his teammates.

The next few weekends will be busy as well. My parents are coming to visit, *someone* has a 40th birthday on April 3rd, which happen to coincide with Mitchell's Spring Break. So we're going to head to the beach for a few days. We also have a wedding to attend and then Macey's 1st Birthday party on Saturday, April 23rd! I got the invitations in the mail today and hope to get them sent out to everyone on Monday. Mitchell also has a ballgame on the 23rd and I know he's going to like having a big cheering section just for him!
