Mitchell is still handing us things and saying "da". Well, a friend of his, Elizabeth, came over to play on Saturday morning. At first, he seemed a little apprehensive. But I knew he accepted her completely when he handed her...the remote control to the TV and said "da". And then he also handed her the remote to the DVD/VCR. She couldn't hold both at one time and he was quite distraught about that and kept picking up the one she would drop and hand it back to her. They played pretty well together. There were times when Mitchell didn't quite understand why she had "his" toys and he wanted them back. So of course he just took them from her. By the end of the morning however, they were running around chasing each other and giggling away.
We had no idea that Mitchell knew the word for "bubbles." We've never blown bubbles at home. But Dave pulled some out on Sunday and started blowing bubbles in the kitchen. Mitchell immediately said "bu-ba". They blow bubbles a lot at daycare so that must be where he learned it!
In the morning, Mitchell is quite content to sit in his chair and watch a video while we're getting ready in the mornings. I guess he's somewhat "trained" now to sit in his chair whenever the TV is on in our bedroom. But sometimes there might be something in his chair (like Mommy's clothes). So he goes about removing these items from the chair until he can sit down. Of course he just throws everything on the floor (just like Daddy).
At daycare, when they do their ABCs they slap their thighs as they sing. Luckily the teacher told me this on Friday because out of the blue over the weekend, he would sometimes stop what he was doing and start slapping his thighs. Whenever he did this, we would start singing the ABCs for him.
Mitchell is quite fascinated by the big screen TV in the living room. He used to just want to touch the screen. But now he's learned where the Power button is and he turns the TV off and on, off and on. Non-stop. So we had to block the TV even more than it was already blocked. And he wasn't too happy. He stood by the box we had put in place and he just cried. A few times he was able to slide the box out of place and he was quite pleased with himself. But Dave wedged the box in such a way that he can't move it. That just frustrated him even more.
That's it for now! Thanks for reading.
