I had a doctor's appointment yesterday so I was the one to pick Mitchell up from daycare. He seemed excited to be picked up earlier than normal. He rushed over to me and then started saying "bye" to all of his friends. And it wasn't just one "bye"...he said it over and over and over again...just so his classmates would know that he was leaving and they were staying behind. But his "bye" is very southern and has about 5 syllables. I'm not sure where he gets that from. It's not like he has parents that have southern accents. : )
He is becoming more and more interested in the refrigerator. I gave him some milk when we got home yesterday and he took a few sips and then opened up the fridge and put his sippy cup on the shelf and closed the door. He likes going in there and pulling out things like salad dressing, jelly, mayonnaise...anything that is on the door. He gets quite upset when we close the door and we won't let him back in there. Dave rigged something with a wire coat hanger so he can't open the door. That makes him very mad as well. I'm not quite sure what the fascination is with the refrigerator. But I'm sure that will soon wear off and he'll move on to other major appliances.
We'll be on the road again this weekend so keep us in your thoughts. I'm flying out on Friday morning to Charlotte to stay with Bonnie for the weekend. Dave and Mitchell are driving up to Greensboro on Saturday morning to spend the weekend with his family. Dave will pick me up in Charlotte on Sunday and we'll all come back to Atlanta together.
