Mitchell had his 18-month checkup this morning. He weighs 29 lbs, 2 ounces and is 34" inches tall. The ped confirmed that you can double their height at age 2 and that is a good indicator of how tall they will be. She said if you double it now, he would be 5'8". Since he's still 6 months away from being 2, she guesses he might end up being 6'2" or 6'3". I guess we'll see in a few years if she's right!
Since I took the day off and Mitchell really needed a haircut, I decided to take him to get his hair cut for the first time. We went to a children's haircut place. Luckily, it wasn't crowded when we got there and we didn't have to wait. But he started crying the second we put him in the chair. And he didn't stop until 5-10 minutes after we'd left! They were all trying so hard to make him happy. Someone was blowing bubbles; they turned on cartoons. But he wasn't even paying attention to any of it. He was just crying like his heart was breaking. By the time he was done crying, his eyes were all red and swollen. It was quite pitiful. But he survived and I survived. I am just not sure when we'll be doing that again!
