Last night Dave put Mitchell to bed because I was taking a spin class and wouldn't get home until a little after his bedtime. When I got home, I wanted to tell him good night. Dave said he was probably still awake, but I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to go in his room because I didn't want him to get upset and want to get out of bed.
I chanced it and went in there anyway. By the light of his nightlight, I could see him break into a grin when he saw me walk in. He was just laying there with his blankets balled up underneath him. He doesn't sleep *under* them; he sleeps *on* them. So I walked over to his crib and started rubbing his back and was telling him "night night". Then I told him that I wanted a hug, so he stood up in his crib and hugged my neck. Then he laid right back down on blankets.
For those who have been around Mitchell very much, you know he's quite rambunctious and quiet moments like that are few and far between. I just love seeing this sweet, quiet side of him.
