It's finally June!

Mitchell has been waiting for June to roll around for quite a while now. He's excited because we told him we were going to the beach *and* he would be riding on an airplane in June. So now that June is here and he knows that, we just have to explain that he still has to wait until Saturday before we leave for the beach!

We bought him a ball at Target the other day and told him he could take it to the beach. He was so excited to tell Aunt Kerri, Granddad and Grandmother about it. I heard him talking to Granddad and Grandmother about it and it was pretty funny. He said, "Granddad...I got something for the beach...it's big and blue. It's called a beach ball!"

June also means it's time to head to the neighborhood pool. We went for the first time on Monday night. I was a little concerned that he would be timid since we haven't been to the pool since last year. But he jumped right back in! He went off the diving board several times and played in the shallow end for a long time.

We've also taken him to White Water several times. We went twice over Memorial Day weekend! It's pretty relaxing for me since I'm the one who gets to sit in our chairs and guard our stuff. There is a huge kids area where he likes to play. He also enjoys playing at the "treehouse" where there is a big bucket that dumps water on everyone when it gets full. He has gone down several water slides and also floated along the Lazy River with Dave.

Over Memorial Day weekend we also spent time with his friend Addy and her family. We played at their house for a little while and then went out to dinner together. Mitchell and Addy got their very own booth with their own private TV. It was so cute...it looked like they were on a date! They sat there and watched Scooby Doo together and had a great time!

Dinner with his friend Hazen was a little more crazy. I ran into Hazen and his Mom last week at Babies 'R Us and we made dinner plans for the following Saturday night. I called Mitchell on my way home to tell him that I saw Hazen. He wanted to talk to him of course and he asked me if Hazen was coming to his house that night and he wanted to know if Hazen was in my car. So we met Matthew, Megan, Hazen and their twin girls at Chili's for dinner. The boys were beside themselves with excitement about eating together. I hope no one could overhear their conversation since 2 boys together = potty talk. Since they were trying to turn the restaurant into their own personal playground, we decided to head to a real playground instead.

Thank goodness for Mitchell and his friends...otherwise I don't think we would have a social life!
