I was very hesitant to sign Mitchell up for swim lessons. The last 2 summers haven't gone so well when we've done swim lessons. But Dave insisted that we try again...this time at an indoor pool.
So he had his first lesson on Tuesday, March 3rd. We "warned" him beforehand that he would be going to the swimming pool with other kids. We avoided the words "swim lessons". But he caught on pretty quickly. He said he wouldn't be able to go because he was going to be sick.
On the day before his first lesson, Mitchell had a day off from school because of the snow (I can hear all of my northern friends laughing at us still). So we headed to Target. I let Mitchell pick out a new Bakugan and told him he could have it after his lesson on Tuesday. He was very excited about his new Bakugan and even tried to sleep with it (although it was still in the packaging).
On Tuesday he seemed OK with going and didn't put up a fight. He jumped right in the water and did everything that the instructor asked him to do.
We couldn't have been prouder and Mitchell was proud as well. I could see it on his face as he kicked, blew bubbles and went underwater. He could hardly wait for Dave to get his new Bakugan out of the package once we got back in the car.
We went to lessons again this past Tuesday and he did great! He didn't get a prize this time and he was OK with that.
Wish us luck as we still have several more weeks to get through before he's done!

Glad the lessons went well year!
Yay! That gives me hope that if we try them again in the fall, they will go better.
