Mitchell has been particularly funny these past few weeks...
1. Mitchell was taking a shower and I noticed that he had a bruise on his arm. I asked him how he got it and if it hurt. Then he noticed a bruise on his leg. And he said to me, "Mommy, I need a new life."
2. 99% of the time, Mitchell goes to bed with no problems. He likes his bed; he likes his room. However one night, he was more tired than usual and he was feeling blue about the fact that he had to sleep by himself. He wanted me to sleep in his bed with him. I of course told him no. Then he said, "Mommy, it's hard sleeping by myself."
3. When Mitchell asks me why it's raining, I tell him it's because God wants it to rain. Now I'm thinking I should have Googled it instead and told him the science behind rain. We had a lot of rain last weekend and it also rained on Monday. I picked him up from school on Monday and he wasn't happy about the fact that it was raining. So he asked me why it was still raining and I told him that God wanted it to rain so the grass would be green and the flowers would bloom. He said, "Well, I'm mad at God. He makes it thunderstorm and makes the power go out."
4. We had a playdate with Mitchell's friend Andrew last weekend. Andrew wanted his Dad to build a tent for them to play in. I guess he didn't say "please" and Mitchell said, "My mommy doesn't do things for me unless I say 'please'." I had to remind Mitchell that he sometimes forgets to say please as well!
5. We go to the gym on Saturdays with our neighbor, Tara, and her kids. After the gym, we take the kids to Dunkin' Donuts. Victoria had an awesome new toy (a McDonald's cup and straw). And Christian wanted to play with it. Tara told him to go to the counter and ask for a cup and straw. He wouldn't go by himself though. I didn't think Mitchell even knew what were talking about because they were sitting a few tables away. But he got up and went to the counter and asked for a cup for Christian. I know Mitchell wouldn't have gone up there himself if he wanted a cup, but he'll help out a friend whenever he can.
