She had her 6-month checkup today. She is 18 lbs, 11 oz and 26 3/4 inches now. The pediatrician's office changed the way they chart their stats and I'm having a hard time interpreting her percentile now! Maybe Mitchell could look at them and explain them to me later. : ) Her pediatrician said she's just perfect...but of course we already knew that. They tried to do a vision test on her, but she would have nothing to do with the patch that they put over her eye. That just confirms my decision not to dress her up for Halloween this year! Although she wasn't going to be a pirate, but she does not like anything "extra" on her body...like socks.
Over the weekend, she showed us that she could sit up unassisted. She can't keep her balance for very long, but she can sit up and she is quite proud of herself!
We also tried cereal for the first time on the 15th. It was quite a messy experience. Mitchell was excited about feeding her cereal....until he saw it and then he smelled it. Then he moved on to something more exciting! She may have swallowed about a teaspoon. She likes to wave her arms around and she kept hitting my arm while I was trying to feed her. So the cereal ended up all over the place. When I did get it in her mouth, she would blow it back out at me like she was blowing bubbles. We haven't tried it again yet!
She's wearing the same bib that Mitchell wore when he had cereal for the first time.
