2008

I know we're already 1 week into 2009 and I should have already done a 2008 year in review post. And you'd think I have all the time in the world right now since I'm not working. But somehow not working has made me less organized and less efficient with my time!

January
We actually got snow in Atlanta! This was Mitchell's first snow.


February
Mitchell is getting better at writing his name.

March

We finally painted the interior of our house...no more white walls! We also celebrated Easter in NC and Mitchell did one of his favorite things...dying Easter eggs with Aunt Laurie.

April
Dave and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary and Dave's 37th birthday. I took a trip to the beach with some girlfriends while Dave and Mitchell got acquainted with Six Flags. We also took a trip to Chattanooga, TN...one of our favorite cities to visit.

May
I had a work trip to Orlando, FL. Dave joined me while my parents stayed in GA with Mitchell.

June
After 18 months of trying to get pregnant, I finally got a positive on a pregnancy test. We spent a week at the beach with my family.

July
We spent a long July 4th weekend in Jekyll Island, GA. Upon our return, I found out that I was miscarrying.

August
Mitchell started school at our neighborhood elementary school...Esther Jackson.

September
I had another work trip...this time to Minneapolis, MN. I got to see my friend, Amy, and visit the Mall of America!

October
I celebrated my 36th birthday. Aunt Kerri came to Atlanta and watched Mitchell overnight for us while we enjoyed an evening out at our favorite restaurant, Village Tavern, and a child-free overnight stay at a local Marriott. We also took another weekend trip to Chattanooga, TN.

November
Mitchell lost his first tooth on Nov 2nd. That milestone was quickly followed by losing his 2nd tooth the very next day. Mitchell celebrated his 5th birthday with a pirate party courtesy of my friend Kent and her wonderful business.

December

I got laid off from my job at AutoTrader.com on Dec 3rd. We became a Wii family. Mitchell sat on Santa's lap!!! We had a great Christmas in NC. And we spent the last day of the old year at the World of Coke.

So here's to all of the ups and downs that 2008 brought the Preslan family. And here's hoping that 2009 has more ups than downs for our family!
