Santa likes star-shaped cookies

As I was unpacking our Christmas decorations today, I came across a cookie plate that Mitchell received as a gift a few years ago. I showed it to him and told him that we need to put cookies on it for Santa on Christmas Eve.

First he asked the obvious question: Why?

I told him Santa would be hungry after delivering gifts to all of the children.

He suggested that we also leave out some milk.

And then he told me that Santa likes star cookies the best. I'm not quite sure how Mitchell knows this seeing as how he and Santa haven't had such a great relationship over the past few years.

So I hope there are some pre-formed star cookies available for purchase at Kroger. I don't mind baking them. I just can't see myself making sugar cookie dough, rolling it out and cutting star shapes out of it. But who knows...maybe I'll become more domesticated over the next few weeks.

Speaking of Mitchell and Santa. Hazen's mom asked Mitchell if he was going to see Santa this year. At first he said no. But then he said he would go with Hazen and the two of them could sit on Santa's lap together.

I'm not holding my breath. Stay tuned though...we're going next Saturday morning.
