Catching Up - Part 1

I know I've been slack on my blogging. So I thought I would catch everyone up on what we've been up to since the first day of school way back at the beginning of August!

Right after school started, we took a trip to Lake Hartwell with my parents and sister. My parents brought their RV and Kerri, Dave, Mitchell and I stayed in this spacious cabin.

Mitchell enjoyed the outdoors, but when he got tired of it, he retreated to the RV to watch TV. He did play putt putt, went swimming in the pool and rode his bike around the campground. The rest of us enjoyed sitting outside reading, talking and playing cards.

On Saturday, we went to Stumphouse Tunnel. Construction began in 1852 and the tunnel was intended to connect Charleston and Knoxville. Construction ended during the Civil War.

After visiting the tunnels, we visited some nearby falls and then sat down for a picnic lunch. Upon getting all of the food out, we realized that we hadn't brought bread for sandwiches. Luckily we had plenty of meat, cheese, crackers and chips!

Mitchell also got to enjoy his favorite activity...skipping stones

We all loved the experience and unlike other Rawls family camping trips...it didn't rain!
