We got the "all clear" on Mitchell's ears on Tuesday. He finished his antibiotics on Monday so we took him in on Tuesday to make sure everything was OK. The pediatrician asked if it was normal for him to get ear infections in the summer. He seemed a little concerned about that. Guess they aren't as common in the summer. So we'll just see how he does. We're hoping it was a fluke that he had two infections back to back like that. Although his odds aren't that great because both Dave and I had ear infections growing up. I was quite surprised that he didn't get his first ear infection until he was 1.
He weighed in at 31 lbs, 4 ounces.
I can't post without listing a few cute things that he's doing:
When he hears certain Wiggles songs, he'll make hand motions or dance in his carseat. They listen to the Wiggles at school and there must be hand motions that they learn. It's just so funny how he'll start doing them as soon as hears a certain song.
He loves to dance! We're not quite sure where he got this from. If he's going for the TV and we don't want him to touch it, we'll turn the station to one that plays music all of the time. He'll immediately start bouncing up and down.
He's very good at doing puzzles now. He plays with puzzles a lot at school and he a couple of wooden ones at home as well. I thought maybe he just had the puzzle memorized, but he went to a friend's house the other night and picked up her puzzle and started putting the pieces in the right places. So maybe he'll have a knack for that like his Aunt Kerri!
His favorite animal noise is a roaring lion. He'll randomly make that noise while we're in the car or out shopping. Although he pretty much will always make that noise when he sees a picture of a lion (and sometimes hippos and zebras).
He loves to wave at people and say "bye-bye" when we leave somewhere. Sometimes in the grocery store, he'll just start waving...sometimes at people; sometimes at nothing. I have to laugh because it makes me think of an adult waving to someone that they think they know and it turns out they don't know the person. He waves at strangers and they wave back and I wonder if they are thinking to themself, "Do I know that person?"
