I should have known...it's that time of month again. It's time for Mitchell to get another ear infection. I don't know what his ears have against his "birthday". His very first ear infection came a few days before his birthday (November 20th). In June, we found on the 20th (when he turned 19 months old) that he had a double ear infection. On July 22nd, he had yet another double ear infection. Here it is August 21st (1 day after his 21-month birthday) and he has yet another double ear infection!
He's been coughing for a little over a week now and we noticed yesterday that he was pretty irritable and apt to cry at every little thing. On top of that, he didn't sleep well last night. When we woke up at this morning, Dave and I both agreed it was time for another visit to the urgent care center for children. You always start to doubt yourself once you arrive, however. Maybe we're being hypochrondriacs. It's probably nothing. We're wasting a $30 co-payment and they are going tell us he's perfectly fine.
The doctor didn't like the sound of his cough and he said he was wheezing a little bit. Then she checked his ears and said both were infected yet again. We had been to his pediatrician on the 2nd of August and got the all clear. So we knew for sure that the last infection had cleared up.
He pitched a fit again about standing on the scale. So once again, I got on there with him and then got on my by myself. He weighs 31 lbs.
Some of the time, you wouldn't even know he was sick. He's still quite active and runs around a lot. But then there are times like tonight, when he fell asleep in the chair in the den at 7:30 when you just know he doesn't feel good.
The picture on the right is from Sunday night. He fell asleep in the chair around 7:15 pm, which is very early for him.
