Since finding out that 6 of Mitchell’s friends moved up to the older toddler class, we decided to push for a move for him as well. He was left in the younger toddler class with his friend, Catherine, who is just a few weeks older than him and a bunch of young toddlers that had just moved up from the infant class. So obviously we want him to be with the older toddlers.
When I asked about it last week, I was told that they feel like Mitchell is definitely ready to move; however, that class is currently without a lead teacher and they wanted to wait until they had hired someone. This was perfectly understandable and I was agreeable with it.
I found out this morning that the lead teacher from the younger toddler class (Paula) decided that she wanted to try out the position of being a lead teacher in the older toddler class. So she started in that position this past Monday and is co-leading the class with one of Mitchell’s former infant teachers (Keisha). I’m very excited about this because we always liked Keisha when she was in the infant class and Paula has been a wonderful teacher as well. It will be great for Mitchell to have some familiar faces when he moves up.
So I checked with the director this morning about moving him up since they have a teacher now. She said they want the new lead teacher to get settled first, but they are thinking about moving him up on September 6th.
